BachalpseeG+

Well, I am enjoying a respite from the daily treatments that have been my life for the last 6 weeks. I’m in Europe to attend my wife’s parents 50th wedding anniversary and in Switzerland briefly to borrow a car for the time we are here. The rest of the family arrives tomorrow. So to unwind I went for a hike in the mountains. A soul refreshing experience, but my legs complained greatly. Very frustrating because 6 weeks ago it would have been a breeze. Bachalpsee is one of the most photographed scenes in Switzerland.  It is easy to see why. These peaks and valleys are better known to me in winter. It is strange to see the same terrain ‘without its clothes on.’  One can never get tired of these mountains, no matter what they are ‘wearing’.

You hike to Bachalpsee from Grindelwald (which can be reached easily by train from Interlaken). Then take the First cableway up the mountain. Once off the cableway just follow the signs.
