Frosty times in Knoxville
For a second year in a row we have had extremely cold spells in Knoxville. This past week the schools were out for the whole week as an arctic blast hit us. This was the sight of a Dogwood tree outside my front door.
Who came up with this?
I was walking from my hotel in the Southwark/Bankside district of London to photograph the Tower Bridge and I came across this display on one of the streets. Its great but I would love to the know the story behind it.
The Tower Bridge in London
I never tire of photographing this amazing city. Right here you have the old and the new. The Tower Bridge was built in the late 1800’s, opening in 1894. It is still a marvel today. Then in the background you have the modern, the new…
Skiing in the Alps
Had the privilege of skiing in the Swiss Alps this winter. This is a view of the Alps (you can see the Eiger clearly in the distance). The amazing thing is this was taken with my iPhone. On this trip I got into iPhone photography…

CitizenM: A new type of hotel in Europe
Recently I stayed in a hotel called CitizenM, both in Amsterdam and Paris. These are low-priced, convenient hotels ideal for overnight stays for the singles or couples. The rooms are small but have a king size bed that is very comfortable. They are modern to…
New York City clues us in as to what makes a city great?
In the last few months, I have been in many great world cities and have more to come in the next few weeks. I love it. Cities are vibrant and rich, often forever reinventing themselves. So what makes a great city? This is what I…
Cinque Terre must be one of the top destinations
OK!. So I have not posted in a while. My bad. I should have because I have been traveling a bit and got a few photos worth sharing. Recently I had the opportunity to sneak off to Cinque Terre in Italy for a couple of…
