Flower power
D700, Switzerland
Travel through Switzerland and certain parts of Austria and the scene seen in the photo is typical. It really is amazing what a transformation is achieved to the houses through the addition of flowers. Perhaps it is the drab winters, with the long periods of “grey” that encourages the population to maximize spring and summer. Whatever, it is, it is very attractive. Unfortunately, the effect is hard to really capture in camera. The question I had as I was driving through the countryside, is “How do they get the entire scene to look like it has been manicured?” Everything is so pristine and neat.
